Osburn Announces Candidacy for DIstrict 81
It wasn’t on the radar for Mike Osburn to run for House District 81, he said. It was when his friend, incumbent Randy Grau, made the decision to take a break from politics that Osburn, 48, opted to declare his candidacy.
“I had served as his campaign treasurer ever since he got into office,” Osburn said. “He mentioned it to me and I said I needed to think about it. And I visited with several people and it all seemed to turn into good.”
Osburn served as deputy chief of staff for former Gov. Frank Keating in the mid-1990s and was state director for former U.S. Sen. Don Nickles until 2004.
“I want to jump in there and really look at some things that need fixing honestly,” Osburn said. “Everybody talks about the state of our education system. I’m a strong proponent of our public education system."
